Have you wanted to be more involved as a graduate of Leadership Winston-Salem? Do you miss your days of working with a group on an Action Learning Project?
For those of you who graduated prior to 2006, Action Learning Projects are now done by groups of current LWS participants throughout their class year. Since inception a decade ago, LWS has worked on 70 projects dealing with things from logos to assessing relocation options to marketing and branding
Do you feel you could be helpful to organizations who have a project to be completed?
If YES, then join us on January 10, 2017 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and learn all about our how you can be on an Alumni Action Learning Team.
On January 10th, you will have the opportunity to meet with numerous organizations that have a need. You will select one and over the next four months you will have the opportunity to meet with them several times to work together to accomplish their project.

Our next education event will take place at SECCA on Wednesday, December 14 from 5 – 8 p.m. and will offer you the opportunity to socialize with friends, preview a new art exhibit, and participate in a Trust Talk with the Winston-Salem Police Department. Here are the details:
Alumni Social and Art Exhibit Preview:
5 – 6 p.m.
You are invited to attend an Alumni social and a preview of SECCA’s newest exhibit “Dispatches” prior to the Trust Talk.
“Dispatches” provides live news through art. The exhibit gathers and generates artistic responses to the news by 34 contemporary artists and photojournalists. The exhibit includes a survey of works from 2010 – present and launches a series of commissions, or “dispatches,” on current events and the critical issues of our time.
Trust Talk: 6 – 8 p.m.
Following the social hour, the Winston-Salem Police Department is hosting a Trust Talk, a Police and Community Dialogue, specifically for LWS current class participants and Alumni.
The goal of this event is to bring together members of diverse communities and its police officers to improve community and police relations, further an authentic community policing culture, and promote dignity, understanding, trust and respect in police and community interactions.

What better way to re-engage our LWS Alumni than by serving our community? We are excited to announce and welcome you to participate in our inaugural Alumni Day of Service on June 9th, where we will reconnect while making a difference. We have partnered with four local non-profits for the Day of Service and there are a variety of 2-hour shifts. If you are unable to participate in the Day of Service, we ask that you make a difference through a LWS Act of Kindness.*
Photos from the Day of Service and LWS Acts of Kindness will be highlighted through pictures that evening at our Alumni Celebration!
